Confidence brimmed during the batting session, as first Dan and then TJ plundered glorious half centuries on a lightning quick Jellicoe outfield. 5/174 off 25 overs seemed like an exceptional effort to start the season, tragically rendered somewhat less exceptional when the Blazing Tigers managed to knock it off in 19.5 overs. Still, the fielding wasn’t too bad, and neither was the bowling. An extra fielder may well have helped, but in any case, we’ve started with a well-contested loss.
